Grade 9 math practice
A new set whenever you’re ready. Pick a grade and a skill, work it out, then see the thinking behind each answer.
These are selected skills using common US-style grade groupings, not a complete curriculum or placement test. School sequences vary. Choose the level that fits your learner.

Will I get different questions each time?
Yes. Generate a fresh set to get new number combinations. A shared link reproduces the same questions. These use defined mathematical rules, not an AI chatbot.
Can I use equivalent fractions?
Yes. For example, 2/4 and 1/2 are both accepted for one half. Use a fraction for repeating decimals. Enter mixed numbers as 1 1/2.
Are answers or progress saved?
No. Answers stay in this page session and are not sent to a teacher. Refreshing or generating a new set clears your work. Shared links include only the question settings, never answers or learner details.
What will print?
The current questions print as a blank worksheet, with an answer key on a separate page. You can also choose Save as PDF in your print dialog.
Answer key
1. 13
Add both equations: 2x = 26. Divide by 2: x = 13.
2. 14
x − 10 = ±4, so x = 10 ± 4. The larger solution is 14.
3. 34000
Move the decimal point 4 places to the right: 34000. Enter digits without commas.
4. 1
Add both equations: 2x = 2. Divide by 2: x = 1.
5. 19
x − 7 = ±12, so x = 7 ± 12. The larger solution is 19.
6. 400
Move the decimal point 2 places to the right: 400. Enter digits without commas.
7. -8
Add both equations: 2x = -16. Divide by 2: x = -8.
8. 14
x − 5 = ±9, so x = 5 ± 9. The larger solution is 14.
9. 7900
Move the decimal point 3 places to the right: 7900. Enter digits without commas.
10. -9
Add both equations: 2x = -18. Divide by 2: x = -9.
